Okay, I'm sure that anyone caught in the horrible wake of Katrina won't appreciate this, but I have discovered a wonderful reason behind it.
Yesterday Logan challenged me to get involved with something called Fandom_Charity, a group here on Livejournal. Fanfic folk of every possible cloth are participating. People are offering their talents, and others are making donations to various charities for those talents. Want a story, some icons, banners, art work? This is your chance. Our own Yja is offering some of her amazing art. Jaxon and I actually have some of her paintings and they are even more remarkable 'in person'. But the best part of this programme is that race, gender, religion, political ideology, sexual orientation, cat lovers v. dog lovers, are being put aside to work as one to benefit those in need. It is the most amazing, heartwarming, and if I may say so, hopeful thing I've seen in a long time. If you have a talent, offer it. If you have a little extra coin and want it to be used to help someone, offer it. Give blood, give sweat...we've all given enough tears.
I needed to see the way our people have come together in this after watching CNN showing people looting dead bodies. Looting. Dead. Bodies. Come ONNNN. As one law enforcement officer put it, 'I can understand looting a store if you need food or water, but stealing the wallet and wedding ring off a dead body?' There's a special level of hell for people like that and those of you who are in boats floating from house to house to steal from the suffering and the dead, I hope you get there doublequick.
But, to those of you who are on the side of angels, I thank you.
Bertina, your story, Coldest Comfort, is two thirds done. Allowing for my muddled thought processes, and Susan's precious free time, I hope to have it posted for you by Thursday next. Will that do? And thank you once again for your generosity.
Michele, your story, A Picture Worth, is in outline form already. I hope to have it to you in time for you to post at HOTG on Thursday next. And thank you. Canadian generosity is NOT seventy eight percent of American generocity.
Jaxon, your story, Nickyfish's Hard Time in the Big Easy, is going to be last in the queue, as we discussed, but I have notes on it already. Thank you.
Susan, your story, Autumn Leaves, will probably be next to last, but I will still try to have it for you by end of next week. I promise not to hold it hostage for Hostess cupcakes. Thank you.
Maria, your story, Under It All, is starting to take form in outline. It will probably weekend next before I have it ready to post. I hope you like it. Thank you so much for contributing.
Gaby, your story, Washed in the Blood, has the basic plot outlined. I'm hoping to have it ready for beta by next weekend. Thank you for your sweet email, and your contribution.
Nonny, your story, Undone, has the basic plot outlined. The boys are restless for this one. I may end up writing all night. Thank you for your contribution. Glad to know you're feeling better.
Credo, your story, The Green in Blackness, has the basic plot outlined. It will be a short PWP with a heavy dose of H/C. I will post it as requested. Thank you for your contribution and it was nice to 'meet' you.
I am going to ask Jay if it's possible to have a page to post these stories on our site, 3WayStop, with appropriate dedications. If he is willing, are you? If you'd prefer not having them posted there, I will respect that as well. Just let me know.
Bridget & Bethie, thank you for making a contribution to Noah's Wish in memory of Ramius, Hermione and Fiver. You really know how to make your dad cry, don't you?
Jason, thank you! You might find this hard to believe, but I hate needles and all. I think you're very brave, and I'm taking it very personally.
Shane, I never thanked you for your kind words at my birthday. I always love hearing from you. Take care.
Well, that's it for me, folks. I got some serious writin' to do.
Take care.

Whenever you complete them I'll be happy as a clam to read them. I think it's a great idea to post all of them together at 3-way, if it's okay with Jay. That's in addition to the sites people have requested, of course.
It is very heartening to see people come together to help others, and what a great way this is to do it. Thanks to you and all of the other writers, artists, and contributors.

You, sir, are amazing. Just how many muses exactly do you have slaving away for you? Just looking at the long list of fics that are either already half-written or at least outlined or otherwise plotted makes me all tingly inside. :) Soooo much new Mik fic!
And just the fact alone that you can go from basic plot outline to having the fic ready for beta within a week...it leaves me speechless. *glares at own muses reproachfully, muses whistle innocently and stare at ceiling in return*
You take all the time you need, you hear? :) And it would be A-okay with me to see all of your "charity work" on one page over at 3-stop. That's a really cool idea!

I'd be happy and honored to do it, frere. Just let me know when and what you want to add in the way of dedication text, stories etc. and I'll get started on it.

So many stories ...
You really are amazing ... for doing this, for having a muse that gives you so many ideas, for having fingers that are tireless, and a heart that's full and warm. And I think posting is a great idea. Will get more people to donate.
Good luck with this selfless undertaking. I'll help you any way I can.
